Privacy policy

A short policy for a site that collects next to nothing. Last updated 19 September 2026.

The whole thing in one paragraph

Fernlantern has no accounts, no sign-up and no payment form. We never ask for your name, email address, date of birth or payment details, because we have no use for any of them. Your game progress is written to your own browser and never sent to us.

Who is responsible

Fernlantern is the controller for any personal data processed through fernlantern.com. Contact details are on the contact page.

What sits in your browser

WhatKeyWhyHow long
Balance, stake, level, XP, statistics, pots, sound and turbo settingsjadewave.v1So the game carries on where you left itUntil you clear browser data
Age confirmationjadewave.ageSo the 18+ question is asked onceUntil you clear browser data
Cookie choicejadewave.cookieSo the banner stops appearingUntil you clear browser data

None of it travels anywhere. It stays on your device, readable only by this site in your browser, and holds no personal data — a coin balance is not a person.

Analytics

Accepting optional analytics allows aggregate, non-identifying measurement: which pages open and which games get played, used only to decide what to build next. IP addresses are not used to profile you and nothing is sold, shared for advertising or joined to other data. "Essential only" turns it off completely and the site behaves the same.

Server logs

Our host keeps standard request logs (IP address, timestamp, path, user agent) for security and troubleshooting, for a short period, never for marketing or profiling. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the site up and secure.

Things we never do

  • Sell or rent data. There is none to sell.
  • Run advertising, retargeting or gambling affiliate tracking.
  • Share anything with gambling operators, data brokers or marketers.
  • Track you across other sites.

Children

Fernlantern is for over-18s and we do not knowingly process data relating to children. If you believe a child has used the site, tell us and we will help you block it.

Your rights under UK GDPR

You have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability. Since we hold no account data, clearing this site's data in your browser is the quickest and most complete erasure available.

If something cannot be resolved with us, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
